2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class

They really forked over these guys because here are the newcomers next year:

Larry Fitzgerald
Drew Brees
Philip Rivers
Jason Witten
Frank Gore

Willie Anderson, Torry Holt, Luke Kuechly and Adam Vinatieri were the others that made the new final seven.

Vinatieri is the most accomplished special teams player of his generation, if not the last 40 years. Bad move.

I know Peyton and Eli live in different cities - and when the time comes I'm guessing Peyton will be the one to "knock," I just wonder what it was like with those two the last couple of weeks. I imagine the finalists are hyper-sensitive to potential meet-ups, family game-nights, or whatever. Given Peyton's penchant for producing these days, I'd imagine something funny. I just don't know how you get it on camera.

The guy I'd like to see get in is Eric Allen. Six pro bowls and one all pro, and twice led the league in returns for TDs. Considering that his prime was at the same time as Sanders and Woodson, it explains the lack of All Pros.

Like, Darrel Green, he was able to keep his speed as a corner for a LONG time. There aren't many corners who started consistently in three decades. However, he doesn't have the highlight films or fanbase of Green.

I can see him being a seniors candidate pick one day.

color me shocked that he got in.

Another quirk in the voting changes: if you make the final seven, you automatically get back in the final 15 next year.

The one thing that might have helped Eric Allen among the rest is that his time as a modern committee is almost up. I'm not sure because of all these changes but I believe next year would be his last before going into the senior hopper, that got brought up and pushed him across the line.

I also find it curious that Jared Allen got in as a long holdover on his fifth try but Holt did not on No. 6

And they won't do it but if this going to be the process going forward, they need to release the vote totals. Before it wasn't a factor.

We went 20 years and all five modern finalists were inducted every time. If you are going to have two spots not get filled, it should be known how close those other four came. If I know Billy Wagner missed by five votes last year, I should know what kept Kuechly or Vinatieri from getting in on the first try

Antonio Gates should have been a first ballot guy so it's good to see the hall right their wrong And FINALLY Sterling Sharpe is in

You are likely right on that one.
