2014 World Series thread

I'm not even a Royals fan, had basically never heard of this guy before the playoffs, and I get more pissed the more I see his at bats last night.

I know he's a super-hacker, but I wonder what kind of frame of mind he was in after getting plunked earlier. Saw some reports where he was in the training room for nearly an hour getting treated after the game.

I don't want to see Travis Ishikawa playing in a World Series a position he almost never has played in his fkin life. That's all.

I know I'm being dense, but why Ishikawa, why the new position? What makes that any worse than the 1959 AL champion White Sox trotting out a .220-hitting first baseman (Earl Torgeson)? Or the 1944 AL champ St. Louis Browns starting catcher Red Hayworth with a .222/.253/.281 line?

Weak spots are everywhere.

If Koufax was so great, why did he lose three games?
Not enough run support.
With a record of 4-3 he cannot be considered to be a great playoff performer.

Jack Morris would have got that run support.
Koufax was a two-time World Series MVP. I don't know how that doesn't define greatness.

Sorry guys. Busy day and I am behind in my duties.

I must now point out that the World Series champions were among the top 10 in the majors in payroll. To be exact, the Giants were 7th.

Again, I apologize for making y'all wait.

:)

BTW, pretty funny that it took 3 minutes to overturn a call ... at first base.

A whole lotta St. Louis folk smiled just a little bit.
