2016-17 Running NBA Thread

Guy comes into the gallery yesterday and says he owns a recording studio and recorded an album by "crooner" K.C. Jones.

Went looking for videos of K.C. ...

I'm glad I didn't take any action on the Sixers winning 30 because of course they decide to tank after going 28-46. Good times.

And I haven't been on here in forever, greetings comrades.

I'm sticking with my prediction on page 1 (or whatever page it was on): Celtics over Warriors.

I want to see the Warriors fall short again just for the insane "BREAK UP THE WARRIORS!" takes that would be flying everywhere from all directions. Idiotic Kerr on the hot seat stories. Simmons tweeting how the Celitcs could land Curry and Green for Al Horford, Greg Kite and some old baseball cards because he ran it through the trade machine. Thinkpieces about how KD and the Warriors are just like the AOL-Time Warner merger. I laugh just thinking about the freakout.

That said, it would be fascinating to see what they'd do to that roster if they didn't win two straight years with historically great teams. The right move would be to run it back out there again in 2017-2018. But there would be pressure to do something, wouldn't there?

I heard Jeff Van Gundy on a podcast. His idea for the playoffs would be
First Round: one game
Second Round: three games
Conference Finals: five games
NBA Finals: seven games

I know it would never happen but i love it. First round is boring.

I liked best-of-three for the first round. Best-of-five was pretty good. Best-of-seven is pointless. Best-of-seven with extra days off to get to that third weekend of TV is a ridiculous bore.

6 playoff teams per conference, best 2 Division winners (or reorganize into 2 divisions) get 1st round bye. Best of 3 for 1st round. Make Regular Season Great Again.
