College football week 14 thread: The Greatest Story Ever Toad

They scheduled Valparaiso this past weekend, won to get to 6 wins, and got a waiver from the NCAA to permit a second win over an FCS team count toward their six wins.

I had some friends go to the Kimmel Bowl last year. They said it was a lot of fun and that the stadium was unbelievable.

Both teams get a night at one of his shows, and he's pretty involved in the whole deal.

how much they pay for those tickets?

And their reward is a trip to Detroit! Actually, I'm glad they didn't just send them up the road to ABQ. That kind of has to be the biggest bummer. Woulda sucked if you finally get a bowl game and you don't even get a plane ride out of it.

They played in a bowl a couple years ago, their first-ever I think, and had a huge crowd of fans there.

Could be kind of fun. Maybe see an NBA game or an NHL game, lots of museums, stay in Corktown, get some swag. Maybe they can bring along their basketball team to provide security. Isn't Jerry Kill from that neck of the woods too?

PS: NMSU started 0-4 and 1-5, so any bowl game would be a bonus. Kudos to that team, which might be the most under-funded in FBS, for not just giving up on the season.

Detroit is an underrated bowl spot - its not Hawaii or the Bahamas of the lesser tier bowls, but as long as you are practicing indoors and playing indoors - its better than some.

Guy transfers from woebegone Colorado, in part to play on a team that has a chance to go to a bowl. Then he skips the bowl.

Would think he wanted to be a 1st-round pick more than play in a bowl game, if they made the playoffs could see him playing then.
