Concerts thread: Best/Worst/Next/Last one you attended?

And a beautiful manicure.

It's incredible. The lead singer of the softest soft rock band in history has the hair of an elderly Grandma and the tattooed arms of a 20-something junkie. What does the lead singer of Air Supply tattoo on himself? Scrawling the lyrics to the payoff verse in "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" would at least explain all the ink.

I can make the runner stumble
I can make the final block
And I can make every tackle at the sound of the whistle
I can make all the stadiums rock
I can make tonight forever
Or I can make it disappear by the dawn
And I can make you every promise that has ever been made
And I can make all your demons be gone

If only Christopher Cross would have tattooed his lyrics on his forearms ...

Watching the Yacht Rock documentary brought this mystery back for me: What word is Cross -- wearing an Earl Campbell jersey in this video! -- saying to begin the second line of the chorus in his hit "Never Be the Same"? (It's the first words that come after "And I, will never be the same without you here") I honestly had to look it up.

And I always deduct 5 points from any artist or band where they wear their own concert shirts. Looks weak.

Always curious how musical acts plan their tours, don't know if they'll be hitting a lot of casinos, but apparently there are a lot of Air Supply fans in Florida, Ten different stops in the Sunshine State. Zero in the PNW, so we got that going for us.
I'd like to congratulate the citizenry of Fort Pierce for helping make their community so prominent it no longer requires a state identifier.

When I saw Black Flag at the Blue Note in CoMo in 1986, the music played over the speakers preshow was Black Flag. I found that to be the ultimate punk move.

I went back to take another look and noticed the hands. Purple polish of the kind featured by trying-too-hard grannies next to the knuckle tattoos you'd expect from someone in a prison gang. This whole aesthetic is a trip. And it's the guy from Air Supply! You can count the layers of "holy ship" in this photo like they were tree rings.

I saw Extreme in 2019 SHUT UP @Junkie @PCLoadLetter :D and the final song to blast over the loudspeakers before they took the stage was "Humans Being," the final single for Van Halen before they fired Sammy Hagar and replaced him with Gary Cherone. I thought that was hilariously self-referential.

Because Facebook's algorithm never sleeps, I got this ad in my feed. A curated selection of comments:
  • When you order Hall & Oates off Temu.
  • I'm all out of lungs, I'm so lost without them.
  • Thought this was a Golden Girls reboot ad.
  • Are these nursing homes?
  • Great to see the Indigo Girls are still touring
  • Why do all 80s rock bands look like a metal version of my Aunt Tilley?
  • I didn't know Vince Neil was in Air Supply.
  • I listened to Air Supply in the 80s and never got laid because of it.
  • Hope there is golf cart parking at this venue.
  • They look like lunch ladies who are disappointed you took an extra pudding and then didn't eat it.
  • When your eight grade gym teacher goes to the club and she rocks out on the weekends.
  • The Villages gonna be extra turnt that night.
  • Even the nights are better since the doctor adjusted our medications.
  • I had a girlfriend break up with me many many years ago with a perfumed note and an Air Supply cashette attached to it. I knew then she made the right choice.

You maniacs drove me to watch an Air Supply Youtube video from Taiwan where the tatted up guy tries and fails to get the audience to first sway, then sing along and then clap in a 20-second time period as he sings "Making Love Out of Nothing At All."

Dude has some pipes, though.
