It is interesting noting the differences between journalist who grew up with social media and those who did not. I imagine more than a few journos today loved sharing what was going on their lives and their thoughts on all things on social media and just figured journalism was a good way to get paid for it.

Before social media, some of us were punks.

I got into this for various goals: Be on SportsCenter, be one of the four chairs with deck Schaap on Sports Reporters. Get paid for my thoughts on sports and have a somewhat public profile.

Came close.

Now it's about... actual journalism :)
