Disaster at Eugene Weekly

And the EW is the only decent paper in Eugene. The RG has maybe 10 employees total at this point.

Another thing that came to mind. With a small operation, maybe the owner cuts corners, didn't have a qualified person to do the books and couldn't afford an outside accountant.

Seems like something that could happen again.

It happens a lot in small businesses, and non-profit associations like community soccer groups.

I've had at least three clients who were victimized by serious internal theft. Just a matter of not setting up internal control and being too busy doing the actual work and not keeping a close eye on things. It's very common and I'm sure some people get away with it.
