The displeasure or distress we inflict on folks in other countries is just another flavor of liberal tears; kind of like Wiener Schnitzel or Pad Thai, just slightly more salty.

Are you this stupid or just obtuse?
We are the gorilla in the China shop. What we do has dramatic effects on everything around us. When we act normal and civilized and sympathetic, the world is a much better place.
When we stop around like a child trying to grab everything we can without giving a single fork about others, the world is a shirtty place. What will also happen if that keeps up is a few other nations will organize to take our ass out.
Or maybe the best player on a team is a better analogy? Do you want a ball hog who only wants what benefits them or do you want a team player?
So obtuse.OK. Well, what shall we do about all that? Ask Europe what to think and say? Mainline MSNBC for a week straight and come out with talking points? Send money in hand-addressed envelopes? What is our penance?
So obtuse.
Climate accords.
Serious question. With the follow-up being: Do Americans care?
The disastrous response and attitude toward COVID-19 from its elected leaders - and a huge portion of the population's acceptance of it - has most of the rest of the world bewildered.
I'm not saying every other country has been perfect, but you have to admit the shirt show that is the U.S. handling of the pandemic is exceptional.
I'm just genuinely curious if international reputation matters?
American abroad here, now living in Hong Kong. The pro-Beijing locals -- to say nothing of the mainland -- are having a right old gut laugh today. Bolivians seem to be having a pop, too. Maybe the US didn't have as far to fall in the world's eyes as some Americans assumed.
