2024-25 College Basketball Thread

Nothing but an exchange of fouls and foul shots in the last minute of Oregon-Arizona, which lasted well over 10 minutes.

"We're behind. Must foul!"
"We're ahead by 3. Must foul so they can't shoot a 3-pointer!"

When what should be the most exciting time in a close game is boring as heck, your sport has a problem.

I am tired of being fed this bullshirt about how important all these clock reviews are. Not giving teams extra timeouts should also be a matter of fairness. Review for egregious timing errors, not whether to fiddle with the clock by four-tenths of a second.
They need something like NFL assist.

The ball going out off the Arizona guy in the corner needed to reason for a stopdown of any length. That should be done in two seconds immediately

The teams should have to stay at midcourt during reviews. It's not supposed to be a free time out. But that's what it has turned into.

This may have been all fun and games, but it is what stinks about college basketball and sports at the moment.

On the other end there is an emotional clip of CSU's Jalen Lake, who finished the absolutely brilliant play to give the Rams the lead, pretty much in tears saying he wishes he could wear Colorado State for the rest of his life. He is the unique player these days who played his whole career at CSU and has the most tournament appearances in school history. He deserves that winning shot, but money talks.

And Queen is a great player no doubt. Not taking anything away from him. Money is still what wins (and maybe always has) in today's college sports world.

These Regionial semis all look like past Citrus/Outback Bowl matchups. And its funny, I screwed up an ESPN bracket and it was "auto-filled" (straight chalk) that one's at the 85 percentile.

I am not sure what you are looking for. College basketball is a billion dollar plus industry. Do you not think the players should be paid?
