Documentaries that made a difference

What does "YHS" mean when FOTF writes it? I have always wondered this.
Your Humble Servant.

He's the Fourth Earl of The Danforth.

Mr. F of F

Shouldn't you be, like, working on your book?

T minus, what, five days and counting?

What's it to you, eh, Jiminy Cricket?
(Sorry. I have a book coming due, too, and I'm very grumpy about it.)

And you,sir, are obviously skiving.

Get back to work.

I also voted for him twice...do I get "stupid or lacking a conscience" amnesty?
Not that I have seen in your posts.

Though, you can't be all bad with that sig.

The idea that anyone who doesn't agree with you politically must be an idiot (or a "criminal," if you're F_B) is an old one. But it's an especially pernicious one in a democracy, where at the very least a large plurality of your fellow citizens are going to disagree with you on the issues of the day.

And, since the Coulter thread has gotten jacked into a tax debate, here's as good a place as any to point out that being anti-elitism doesn't have to mean embracing ignorance.

Oh, bullshirt. You're better than that.
Everyone who disagrees with me politically is neither an idiot nor a criminal.
However, the idiots are idiots and the criminals are criminals.

There should have been about a quarter disagreeing with me on election day 2004 with regard to who to vote for. Not 48 percent.

If you don't believe that the people polled who still approve of Bush aren't utter dolts (or lying to the pollsters), I can't help ya.

You're moving the goalposts, Simon. What happened to "If you voted for Bush twice you are either a) stupid or b) without a conscience?"

And F_B, I'm hoping your response means you don't think I'm an idiot or a criminal. Here's hoping.

In "Bowling for Columbine", I was surprised how eloquent Marilyn Manson was.

We all knew in November 2004 what we know now about the war in Iraq.
We all knew in November 2004 what we know now about his disdain for the Constitution.
We all knew in November 2004 what we know now about his stupidity deeply affecting crucial appointments: Mike Brown, Harriet Miers, Alberto Gonzales, and, with the guys he snuck through, the Supreme Court may spend the next 30 years tearing down our freedoms as a result.

What the fork changed your mind from then to now?

I'm sorry, but there, at least in that moment of voting, was some incredible stupidity.

I stand by it.

Lot of blood on voters' hands. Mean to say, but true.

Of course, not.

Now that's funnier than almost any of the pictures you've posted.

'twasn't meant to be.
Unless you are a criminal, in which case, please put your hands on the car and spread 'em.
