Not exactly documentary, but tried watching the first episode of "Running Point" on Netflix.
Produced by Mindy Kaling, with Kate Hudson essentially playing a watered down version of Jeannie Buss (who is co-producing the show with Kurt Rambis' wife and son) as the inherited president of the Los Angeles "Waves" with her brothers.
The team even has a Zen Buddhist coach that Kate Hudson seems to have the hots for, conveniently enough. And Chet Hanks (Tom's black sheep son) as the team's rebel player.
The show's already been renewed for a second season, but I don't know if I can stick with it after the awesomeness that was Winning Time, which at least had the NBA trademarks and real characters to work with (but not the Lakers' apparent endorsement that Running Point has).
