After a search that has stretched through spring, summer and fall, and has taken more twists and turns than the BCS poll, the Ann Arbor News finally has a new sports editor ... who will begin this winter.

Former ASE of the Longmont Daily Times-Call in Colorado, Pete Bigelow, will take over duties on Dec. 31.

I wish him luck.

I add both my congratulations and well-wishes. Now maybe Carty will have more time to dedicate to a timely distribution of those special sections!

Congratulations to Pete, he's good people. It's a great move for him, and the staff there.

Starts work on a Sunday, I like that.
Congrats to Pete. And I can edit the title of this thread. But won't.

God help you if you miss deadline and have to face this the following morning:

I just have one question: Who cares? This is Ann Arbor we're talking about.
