Do they have a lot of people left who could have reflected "on the paper's rich history?" How about some? They could have used the final editions to reflect on the paper's rich history; instead it's just a pamphlet advertising AL.com.

One of these days, someone needs to go around the country and do a photo series showing the abandoned printing press buildings and newsrooms all these withering newspapers are leaving behind likes a snake's shedded skin.

Print circulation is down 73% since I left a decade ago. They recently stopped carrier delivery. It's all mail.
Their deadline on Friday night for Saturday's paper is 8 p.m.
This week was a federal holiday, meaning no paper on Monday. So, anything that happened Friday night or after didn't get into the hands of print delivery subscribers until Tuesday afternoon.
I think their first step will be to drop the pretense of being a daily paper, call itself a bi-weekly or something, and finally kill print.
