Missouri's distinction is that it's the site of the strongest quake in the lower 48. Poorly phrased question on my part.

Yeah, which of the lower 48 would have tripped me up. I would have said California/Oregon and spaced Missouri. If nothing else, you got me looking up the Missouri quake and the Carolina massive quake. I didn't think quakes that big were happened east of the Rockies.
