I guess now we know why they called the band Hootie and the BLOWfish.

Don't care what drugs he's on. Hootie was my coming of age music.

Which material? Hootie or the country stuff? A bummer either way as he always seemed from afar like a decent guy.
The last Hootie tour in 2019. Completely gave off a, "Let's get this over with, you monkeys" vibe, even when doing his solo tunes. The rest of the band was engaged but DR seemed as if the whole enterprise was beneath him. Consensus was that BNL were great fun and worth seeing anytime they come around and Hootie/DR were a big disappointment.

I was only able to survive because I'd seen Iron Maiden the night before and my metal cred was still strong.
