Cribbs would energize the alumni but there isn't a kid under the age of 25 who knows who he is. This isn't Coach Prime coming to the Front Range.
Kent State is in the middle of a 100-mile radius of some of the nation's best high school talent and regularly gets outrecruited by the FCS, D2 and D3 schools in NE Ohio.
Add in the fact it is - by far - the lowest funded program in the MAC.
And no, no one cares.

I'm guessing the only reason they didn't whack him after last season was a lack of stray millions just looking for a home in the budget. Now you can wonder if someone has alerted them to something that might permit whacking for cause.

I've heard worse plans for an off-cycle emergency hire. heck I've lived with a worse plan via one Mike Shula.
