I flew through Charlotte and the Bojangles line was thirty feet long at 11 AM.

Could have warned you. Last stop at Douglas, got Jersey Mike's. Lines at Bojangles' and Chick Fil'A were 50 people deep.

Pioneer forced KFC to change how they cut their chickens. KFC used to have side breasts and center breasts. One comedian said, "side breasts, center breasts, just what kind of chickens are those?" Pioneer had larger pieces, forced KFC to change. And Pioneer was better.

** Edit -- It wasn't a comedian, it was Pioneer's own commercial ripping on KFC.

On a side note, I had a connection in Charlotte a few years ago and was struck by what a dumpy airport that is. I few from there to Savannah/Hilton Head Airport, which was easily the nicest small airport I've ever seen.

Yeah - that atrium section is very nice.

Every wing that split off of that area was like the airport that time forgot.

Absolutely. It's perfectly serviceable. There are airports I will do anything to avoid and Charlotte certainly wouldn't make that list.

Outside of that central atrium, it just looks like it hasn't been touched since 1975.

The real downside is that if you're making connections in Charlotte, you're flying USAir USAirways American.

Opening weekend of Spring Break, 2013.....I flew from Denver to Charlotte to Fort Lauderdale.
I've been through DIA a thousand times, but was the first time into Charlotte. It was a sprint from one to the other to get the connection into Fort Lauderdale.
I thought Charlotte was nice enough (from what I saw running)......, but Fort Lauderdale was a shirthole.
I had a morning flight out of Denver (like 930-ish) on a Sunday Morning. They open the bars at DIA at 7am. Breakfast beers with a bunch of coeds who were on their way to Cozumel was kinda fun.
