Nashville for a newbie....

Puckett's is … fine. Sort of a bougie Cracker Barrel. If you go with properly calibrated expectations you can enjoy it just fine. Up to seven locations now, so you can decide if that's too "chain" for you.

Red Boiling Springs isn't reachable by pony express.

Once upon a time there was a restaurant called Roiter's that served delicious burgers on French bread. It is no more, but there is now a concession stand for it on the main level at Preds games. No idea if it will be open for the draft or not.
When I was at Vandy, I ate at Rotiers like once a week. A shame it closed, its burgers were great

Not so much a suggestion, but first time I visited Nashville to see a college friend, my wife, son and I took a trip to the American Pickers' shop. As we were leaving, the Google StreetView car passed by. Checked back after a few months, and there we were. Was a nice brush with "fame."
