A few that have remained on my playlist for quite some time:

Sturgill Simpson, "Metamodern Sounds in Country Music"

fork, I love this album. It's like Waylon's come back to life.

This is going to be of little use to anyone because it was the last show of their North America tour, but The War On Drugs are forking incredible live. Went to see them Friday in Saxapahaw, N.C. (which I didn't realize was a place until I looked on their tour schedule) and it was easily one of the top shows I've seen. Everything you like about the album, cranked up 40 percent and with three minutes of extra instrumental for each song. If they add U.S. dates in 2015 (or you live in/will be visiting Europe), you really owe it to yourself to see them live.

I still kick myself for not seeing them this tour. It was the night after I saw Arcade Fire, and I figured I'd be too beat. I'll definitely have to catch them the next time around.

I'm at the middle section of seeing around 11-12 concerts this Fall. I saw St. Paul and the Broken Bones (Janeway's voice is incredible in person) open for the Drive-By Truckers this weekend. I've got Jenny Lewis, Stevie Wonder, Lake Street Dive, and Strand of Oaks lined up for later in the Fall, with the possibility of seeing The New Pornographers as well.

Rob Schneider's daughter Elle King is a helluva singer. She's got a great new song called Ex's & Oh's. If you like Shovels & Rope or Lydia Loveless, you'll like this:
