NFL Week 4 -- Damn, even Rock Reed scored against the Lions

The line is terrible. Roethlisberger is also terrible. Yes, he is rushed on many of his throws, but he had plenty of time on the two balls down the field that he missed Smith-Schuster. He's missing throws even when he has the time.

I feel for Harris. Teams just aren't respecting the pass and the line isn't good, but he really is a beast.

There were about a half-dozen teams who hit the quarterback jackpot in those early-to-mid 2000s drafts that have forgotten what it's like to worry about the position, and how good you have it when you're in that situation.
You had the Pats, Giants, Chargers, Steelers and Falcons, and you can throw the Saints in there as well with their acquisition of Brees, who managed to hit on a guy who could carry them for 10 or 15 years. Plug them into the top of the depth chart and you're set. They all had those guys so long it became hard to imagine life without them, and they and their fans probably forgot how hard it is to find an elite, HOF-level quarterback like that.
The Chargers have found their next guy, but the rest of those teams are finally facing a reckoning now or in the very near future.

It took one quarter, but the Broncos are exactly who the sane of us out here in the Rockies thought they are. Secondary was a disaster. Quarterback play was a joke. Offensive line was a joke. Could be the start of a four-game skid after starting 3-0 against teams a combined 0-9. No surprise, but show some freakin' effort today -- especially at home.

It's only one half. Actually, 4 1/2 games this season. But I have no idea why NBC wants to push out Uncle Al after this season for the meh Mike Tirico. Unless it's age. But Al still brings a pretty good fastball and a huge-game feel like tonight. This isn't Uncle Verne territory where the end was pretty obvious. Not the case with Al.

Trust me. Steelers fans around my age know all about what it is like to worry about the position. We went through it for 20 years. Most Steelers fans know how bad it can get. Honestly, they have already seen a team with poor quarterback play more often than not for two-plus seasons. Roethlisberger wasn't playing all that well before he went down for the season in Week 2 of 2019 and he faltered badly after a good half-season last year. Any Steelers fan who is paying attention knows the next quarterback isn't on the roster. That's why they brought him back. They didn't have an alternative.

It's hard to believe the falloff of Tampa's defense. I mean, they stink and last January they were great.

Collinsworth loves Mac Jones more than is seemly. Kid's played an excellent game, but wow has his lily been gilded tonight.
