My question relates to categorization....

If a white and a black (or an Asian and a Hispanic) have a child, what is the categorization of that child for the census?

It's my understanding that it's whatever the person identifies as. These are not and never have been designations rooted in any kind of real scientific categorization.

I had a friend in high school whose parents were Egyptian. He used to check "African American" on his college applications just to fork with people. He wasn't technically wrong.

WASHINGTON (Aug. 14) -- White people will no longer make up a majority of Americans by 2042, according to new government projections. That's eight years sooner than previous estimates, made in 2004.

I for one welcome our new ethnic overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted sports writing personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves.

Neither is Charlize Theron, I suppose.

So if there's no majority will we all be minorities?

I can't wait to put that on my resume.

Just don't go becoming a welfare queen on my dime.
