President Trump 2.0: The NEW one and only politics thread

I just saw his post on Tesla. My forking God. If I didn't have my cats, I'd stay over here forever. It's been remarkably sane.

A long but important read from The Atlantic about the rise and spread of Putinism, particularly to Trump. (You can't miss the paragraph about how many ways Trump has screwed over Ukraine, and why).

The Tragic Success of Global Putinism
Post the relevant paragraph, please. I'm not searching through another long link.

Also, it's paywalled. Another big reason why we excerpt the good stuff here.

Musk: "The waste and fraud in entitlement spending -- that's the big one to eliminate. That's the half trillion, maybe 600 or 700 billion a year. That's also the mechanism by which Democrats attract & retain illegal immigrants by essentially paying them to come here & then turning them into voters."

I'm starting to agree with Gee here. I think the World Cup gets pulled and pulled soon. Having spent a week here now, everyone is fine and sympathetic to the everyday American but the American government has pissed everyone off in Europe to a stunning degree. We are viewed on par with Russia. I hope it happens. Maybe, maybe, that wakes people up. It feels increasingly and hopelessly desperate and the only hope seems to be actual physical violence against Musk, Miller, Trump, etc., to stop it.

As long as the money is flowing, FIFA ain't moving the World Cup.
