President Trump 2.0: The NEW one and only politics thread

A DHS official alleged in a statement to the Daily Beast that the library was being used for drug trafficking.

"The library is still open," the statement read. "Drug traffickers and smugglers were exploiting the fact that Canadians could use the US entrance without going through customs. We are ending such exploitation by criminals and protecting Americans."

Anybody who lies this blatantly should be named and shamed.

Honestly, the bottom of that story makes me think there is something seriously wrong with Noem. Like Alex in Fatal Attraction weird.

The question should not be why this reporter got mistakingly added to the chat but why are they choosing Signal in the first place?

Is this chosen so they can quickly delete everything? How many other threads are on Signal? Does Signal fall under a FOIA?

To someone who has a once of education, those are troubling questions. To Trumpers, their cats breath smells like cat food.
What kind of security protocols were in place where the reporter was added to the call in the first place? I'm on a weekly operations call and you need an invite, and anyone calling in has to identify themselves.

And yes, I believe it's to avoid FOIA, but her emails, right?

A Conversation With Jeffrey Goldberg About His Extraordinary Scoop

I'm not sure much of this is new, but the last question and answer jumped out at me.

David: Are you concerned about retaliation from the Trump administration because of this story?

Jeffrey: It's not my role to care about the possibility of threats or retaliation. We just have to come to work and do our jobs to the best of our ability. Unfortunately, in our society today—we see this across corporate journalism and law firms and other industries—there's too much preemptive obeying for my taste. All we can do is just go do our jobs.

Yeah, keep those Canadians out of the library. That'll not only stop the flow of fentanyl across the border, but bring them to their knees begging to become the 51st state!

Wake the fork up, Republicans. Your own party will hurt you more on purpose than Dems ever could unintentionally.

Google Salt Typhoon and consider the hoops professional DoD has been clearing to have secure comms, and then face palm even harder at this SNAFU.
