RIP Joe Lieberman, candidate for Vice President

Respect the long service to our country, even choosing his friend McCain over party loyalties - but the No Labels stuff was idiotic. Particularly in the time of Trump.

I guess I would have respected the McCain choice if he didn't go groveling back to the party for a spanking afterwards and was lucky that Obama just didn't think it was worth it to make an example out of him. Plus I don't think he did it out of any form of honor, he did it because he would have had a role of some sort in the McCain presidency whereas an Obama presidency was going to mark the end of any significant influence he had with the Democratic party. And begging disappointed Hillary Clinton supporters was so disingenious and desperate. He made such little difference for McCain, if you told me he was there to secretly sabotage him I wouldn't have doubted it.

Otherwise, he stood for honorable things when it suited him, but sign him up for any war and if there was an insurance company with a checkbook he had his hand out first.
