RIP Gene Hackman

Yeah. Well, we don't know the particulars of the relationships between Hackman and his kids. It might seem a little unusual for middle-aged, or later, kids not communicating with a 95-year-old father for two weeks or more, but it ain't up for us to decide. For all we know it might have been by Gene's choice when he was still coherent. And the kids and grandkids don't deserve to see stuff like that in public circulation. And no public interest is served except sheer morbid curiosity.

Aside from all the other things that make it truly disgusting, who do you even market those to? It ain't like he was some startlet who died young. He was pretty universally beloved but I don't know that I've ever heard of an obsessed Gene Hackman superfan. If someone truly gets off on gore and decomposition I have no doubt there are plenty of freebies out there, even if you have to go dark web. Ninety-nine point infinity percent of people would go out of their way to avoid seeing those photos if available. How does this pencil out for anyone?

You guys realize no one has requested the photos, right?
The family has asked that the files be sealed. That's it.
Understood from the start. So maybe it shouldn't even be a story
unless and until someone petitions the court to get them unsealed.

Hackman's estate was worth $80m. Nothing was left to the kids. Everything was left to the wife. Of course they've proved that she died first, so it is likely to revert to the people who didn't even both to know he was dead.

Yes, since he died after her, I'm pretty sure that's how it works, that it will go to his children.

An article I read said the children were mentioned in the will, as well as it leaving everything to the wife. I don't know what was said about them in the will but it is possible there was a clause disinheriting all the children. I'm guessing such a clause would be included, otherwise they could have challenged everything going to the wife (ashuming New Mexico estate law doesn't have some unusual twists). The article also said everything would end up in a trust but no one knows the terms of the trust.
