RIP Tony Sirico

I was lucky enough to meet him a few times — he was very involved with Wounded Warriors, as was my former employer. He would come by the office with some of wounded soldiers and would agree to talk to clients on the phone as Paulie in exchange for donations. I'm not sure there was that much space between the character and the person.

"Da boss of dis family says you're gonna donate in exchange for me playin' Paulie! So shut da fork up about it!"

If you've heard the Talking Sopranos podcast (hosted by Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa) they often say that in real life, Tony Sirico was 100% Paulie Walnuts.

That's a lot to have to shoulder.

Webster, good to know that he was willing to contribute to the cause and his was a perfect one. Not some TV shill, but here ... talk to the guy in his character voice. The other end was probably willing to donate at the beginning of the call and gave more at the end because of the entertainment.

RIP Mr. Sirico and Thank You.

I just watched for the first time the only movie I know of that featured James Caan and Sirico---Mickey Blue Eyes! It was pretty silly, some laughs. Helps to like Hugh Grant (and I think he is pretty funny in general).

One of 27 who were in both The Sopranos and Goodfellas. Trivia time: Only one actor was in those two plus The Godfather. Who was it?
