Running 2017 MLB regular season thread

Don't know. I do know he's already hit almost as many batters this season (7) as he has in all his previous seasons combined (9), and his BB/9 are way up this season, so he's obviously had control issues all season.

Awfully coincidental the timing of this pitch just getting away from him.

Pitches have been getting away from him all season. Why would Thursday be any different?

I'm a Tigers fan with a lot of opinions. I am disappointed that the only interesting moment in the entire summer of 2017 for the Tigers took place during a getaway day game while I was showering after a workout, but it's not like I've been paying a lot of attention for the last month. A few thoughts:

1. I read after the suspensions came down that MLB's justification for giving Cabrera nearly double what anyone else got was that, basically, he started it and that none of the tomfoolery that took place afterwards would have happened if Cabrera hadn't started punching Austin Romine. This is mostly bullshirt, but I don't even care, other than that Cabrera didn't really land anything (Romine ducked). Cabrera's been playing at 75% for pretty much the whole season and him getting a week off gives the Tigers a chance to try Castellanos at first for a bit and give a couple ABs to Jeimer Candelario, who they got in the Avila/Wilson trade.
2. Sanchez should have gotten more, of course, but there was no way they were going to give anything but the justifiable minimum to a young star on the sport's most marketable team, especially with all this "Players Weekend" BS going on.. MLB can't market its stars to begin with, how can it market one whose week-long suspension screwed up the playoff race. heck, if Judge had done something (and several Tigers say he did), he probably would have had to write an apology letter and that would be it.
3. Ausmus's suspension was tied to Wilson throwing at the guy, ostensibly for failure to control. In fact, if Wilson appeals, the game Ausmus serves is tied to the end of that.
4. I'm glad someone made the Yankee bullpen running in into a meme, because that was the funniest thing about this fight.
5. This has its genesis in the series the teams played in the Bronx earlier in the summer. Fulmer hit Jacoby Ellsbury in retaliation for Mikie Mahtook getting two, one in the head, in one game.
6. Still not my favorite Tigers-involved fight. That's still:

Very low on the priority totem pole for the city and people of Houston, but what do they do about the Astros' remaining home schedule? Even if the stadium can be used, who can get there?

A series with the Rangers is coming up; I imagine that'll just be flipped to Dallas with the Astros as the official home team.

I'd guess travel around the Houston area is going to be a mess for several weeks.

Yankees up 6-1 in the first as the Mariners have made five errors.

Yes, five errors in the first. Segura has three of them.
