Charlie Robison, one of the great Red Dirt songwriters of the '90s and early '00s. Was married for a time to Emily from The Chicks. Way too young at 59.

Charlie lost his voice after surgery and had retired from singing a few years ago, but had started doing occasional shows again. Tragic loss. Fifty-nine is too forking young.

Only just learned of this now. RIP Ian Bairnson. Talented Scottish guitarist first rose to prominence with Pilot ("Magic") then that band got absorbed by the Alan Parsons Project. Also played on several Kate Bush albums. That's his guitar solo on her first single "Wuthering Heights."

I saw the Pogues twice, both times with Shane, and it was as chaotic and awesome as you'd think.
