Running 2025 golf thread

Agree, but after McCord got banned and he was still at CBS, he put it in his contract that he would not work the Masters so there was no pressure from Tiffany executives to try to get him back. That's not happening.

Clampett I think did one or two years with On The Range but in the CBS release for this year, he's not listed, even on the streaming stuff.

And I went back piecemeal through last year's final round broadcast. I had forgotten they finally allowed Pepper to walk on the course. That used to be a big no-no. She might have done it the past couple of years. Heck, I don't think they still allow media to walk inside the ropes.

Anyway, Nantz called six holes last year so now he'll be adding a seventh if he keeps the same as last year as he's picking up No. 12. And there will be some other movement with Uncle Verne gone and no one new added to replace him.
Dottie has walked for 2-3 years now.

Does any other country obsess over announcers the way we, apparently, do? It seems odd to me because I generally don't care and it doesn't affect my viewing. One exception is Vitale. I tired of him years and years ago and can't watch a game he's working. Other than that, I don't care.

Other than international soccer and cycling, I haven't watched sports with the sound on in more than 15 years. It started with having to mute shrieking tennis players like Sharapova and eventually just became my standard way of watching nearly all sports. And it's muting the commercials as much as it is the broadcasters or players.

The only thing that really bothers me is getting things wrong -- facts, pronunciations, missing or misinterpreting on-the-field stuff, etc. Announcers who do that consistently (such as the current-day Al Michaels) drive me nuts. Othrwise, I am like you for the most part -- I don't care. I often don't even know who the announcers are for a game I might be watching.

I agree and also hate announcers scream too much. That's why I can't stand Gus Johnson, especially on football.

Seems like it's getting late early for Homa. Example No. 563 of Tour pro changes club company, goes into the tank.
Pro golfers are never satisfied.
0 wins last year, but still cashed in 3.9 million…..2 wins and over 10 million the year before.
Greiner will be on a bag in no time.
