This latest generation of broadcasters -- Tess, Gus, etc. -- feel the need to yell and its annoying. What it really showcases is a lot of them don't have strong voices, or don't believe that they do. Bob Costas, Pat Summerall, Vin Scully and Keith Jackson never needed to scream. Al Michaels screamed one time and it took the biggest upset in history.Joe Tessitore doesn't understand this comment and also WHY AREN'T YOU EXCITED ABOUT THAT ROUTINE FIRST DOWN MIDWAY THROUGH THE FIRST QUARTER!!!!!
Harlan's just got a big booming voice. He could never cover golf. If he covered the Masters, his booth would have to be in Aiken.I am in the minority, but I can't stand Kevin Harlan for the same reasons.
Formula One fans often take Sky racecaller (the de facto world English language voice) to task for getting overexcited. But he's less likely to do so that his predecessor on BBC and ITV, Murray Walker.Does any other country obsess over announcers the way we, apparently, do? It seems odd to me because I generally don't care and it doesn't affect my viewing. One exception is Vitale. I tired of him years and years ago and can't watch a game he's working. Other than that, I don't care.
As a non-golfer i need to ask if any of you you have ever taken "insect relief"
Not sure about PGA rules, but I've golfed with people who have nailed the side of a Canada goose (my wife) and a tree with a redwing blackbird nest (me). In both cases we left those balls behind and dropped one away from the angry birds!
