Running CFB playoff thread

Franklin keeps his entire backfield, as Nick Singleton joins Drew Allar and Kaytron Allen in opting for another year of NIL money.

They've pulled in two wideouts from the portal -- USC's Kyron Hudson and Troy 1,000-yard guy Devonte Ross. They have to be better than what Franklin had.

It will all rest on Allar's arm next year, especially after Al Golden just gave the entire Big 10 a road map on how to beat this team. Even when Allar had open looks this season, he looked like Steve Sax at times.

Yeah, I'm not sure just where they get this top NFL quarterback prospect stuff, at least not at this point. Allar's production against top competition has to be more consistent than it has been.

Alabama this season: At Wisconsin
Alabama last season: At South Florida
Alabama 2022: at Texas (then a non-conference game)
Alabama road games in the coming decade: Florida State, Weat Virginia, Ohio State, Oklahoma Sttae, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Boston College, Arizona, Minnesota, Virginia Tech

But hey, narrative!
Alabama has historically been the one SEC team that will play intersectional games. Tennessee too.

LSU also. Arkansas to an extent and Auburn more so lately.

The only road game Michigan has ever played at what is now an SEC stadium is South Carolina in the mid-80s. (They will soon add Oklahoma and Texas to the list, but I'm not entirely sure they would have scheduled those if they knew about the conference switch in advance.)

I said on one of these threads, one free transfer and sit out a year for any others. I should have added, you get six years and no more to complete your eligibility, grad transfer included.

I am all for players getting whatever they can through NIL and $100 handshakes.

It says a lot that this is the first post in almost a week. There is a game tonight right?

Yeah, this needs some breathing room away from the NFL playoffs. Maybe play it this Thursday.
The semis worked well for buzz because they were at the front of a loaded football weekend so it all flowed seamlessly. I think an underrated factor in what feels like the lack of hype is that ESPN goes first on divisional round weekend so there are no more promos reminding people once the Texans have made their annual trip down the water slide into the offseason.

I think that the universal conviction this is a mismatch, which I share, does more to harm pre-game interest than the game's scheduling.
