In a manner that would result in charges being filed if you said to your neighbor.

The reporters are the real heroes in this story.

We need more accounts of their experiences.

Has Nate Silver tweeted any more about his arrest? That was so relevant. His experience makes me understand what it's like to be African-American, and poor in a place like Ferguson, MO.

Saying the cop was wrong to issue that threat doesn't mean any of that.

I'm looking at what appears to be a dead body in the middle of Chambers

Not heroes, just trying to do their job in the face of a police force that seems to whip its collective ass with their constitutional right to do so.

Are you referring to the Ferguson PD, The State , County or all police
collectively?

Those reports of shots being fired turned out to be fireworks. Not only that, but I know that area a bit, and the livestreamer was not in the immediate danger zone where shots were originally reported as being fired.

Every reporter who tweeted that followed up by saying they were only talking about the most recent reports.

There have been numerous reports of shots fired. And, if that's the case, no cop wants to be lit up by a high powered light if protestors are firing guns.

So when faced with a problem that has many, many solutions, the police officer goes straight to threatening to shoot the person. That *is* the problem.

Any police, any body at all, that prevent the press from doing its job. Let the press assume their own risk.

And I meant "wipe" not "whip" above. Dumb typo.

Our latest reporter vying to become a part of the story, and land on the cable networks to talk about his experience:

Put in handcuffs, but then released.
"Journalism" sure has changed. We didn't have "Getting Arrested, 101" in the curriculum when I was in school.

Funny how some cases like this one capture the interest of the media and others like
the Danroy Henry police shooting get no traction.

The utterly inept police response has been the reason this story has traction. Otherwise it'd just be another dead guy on the pile.

Police response in that case was equally inept. heartbreaking part of that case was that
they just left the kid to die in street - 3 minutes from a major trauma center.
