I was a lucky one and got a PS5 at release and I've never really had an issue downloading a game. I did hardwire mine to a eero though, maybe that helps?
And once the games are on there the load times are so fantastic. When I was late to the game with the Last of Us II and had to use the PS4 version it drove me so crazy waiting for the damn thing to start.
