The Seymour (IN) Tribune, a six-day paper (Mon-Sat) in southern Indiana, has an immediate sports editor vacancy and is looking to fill as soon as possible. Send résumés/clips to editor Aubrey Woods at awoods@aimmediaindiana.com.

If you have any questions, I can try to answer...I'm the SE at the chain's flagship.

You'd be about halfway between Louisville and Indy on I-65 and covering basketball games in the largest high school gym in America.

Please tell me the local HS mascot is the Cougars.

Since Mellencamp is famous for chain smoking, Seymour could be the Cigarette Butts...lol

At least they're not the Johnsons, like the Air Force base with an unfortunate name.

Will there be any Louisville or Colts or Pacers coverage?

The job is basically what you make it. The outgoing SE seemed far more focused on college/pro stuff, while his two immediate predecessors focused almost entirely on the local high schools (which really is what should be done, IMO...nobody's going to seek out the Seymour Tribune for Louisville/Indy coverage)
