The Brunswick News in Brunswick, Ga., is looking for an energetic sports reporter to fill out our two-person team. Applicants should have a college degree, preferably in journalism. The position also includes page layout duties and often shooting your own photos. Proficiency with Adobe Indesign, Adobe Photoshop and Total BLOX CMS is a plus.
Job duties include writing daily stories focused on covering the ins and outs of the local sports scene in Coastal Georgia. That includes extensive coverage of three high school in Glynn County during the school year and five football teams in the fall with coverage expanded to McIntosh County and Camden County.
The Golden Isles is also a hotbed for golf. The area is home to several PGA Tour professionals and hosts an annual PGA Tour event, the RSM Clashic, in the fall. College of Coastal Georgia, an NAIA school in The Sun Conference, is also located in Brunswick.
Outside of sports, the chosen applicant will also help in other aspects of The News' operations.
