Running off-season CFB thread

Well, Kelly does have somewhat of a point:

1. First and foremost, Notre Dame has an infinite -- unlimited -- budget for football.

2. That infinite unlimited budget would be a little more unlimited if ND wasn't paying out money to the worthless fatfork Weis. That wasn't Kelly's idea so it shouldn't be his problem to fix.

3. There is nothing, nothing whatsoever, Kelly could do that would be any more effective in fundraising than winning a couple more football games.

But,
1. There's certainly nothing much in Kelly's recent resume to argue he'd put that time to any more effective use coaching.

I keep waiting for some team or coach looking to make a splash to announce that they were thinking of coming up with special "third" unis, but decided instead to take that money and put it to better use, like building a home for habit for humanity or something.

ND's Knute Rockne unis? I would have just gone with a patch.

Looking to get a jump on things, I went ahead and typed up the TV schedule for the first week of games.
There's games next weekend!? And not just one or two, but a fairly full schedule of eight games? WTF!?
I thought they were trying to back away from all of those random early games?

Two other things I noticed were that Florida A&M plays two games before most teams play one (Aug. 26 vs. Texas Southern and Aug. 31 at Arkansas), and ESPN is giving the full multi-network treatment to Ohio State-Indiana on Thursday the 31st.

I had about talked myself into going to a 1-AA game next weekend before I got roped into helping a buddy pick up a car he's buying out of state. darn glad to have survived another offseason.

NCAA waves the white flag on battling NIL deals for NLI. Johnny doesn't even have to show up at the local car dealers and make his appearance fee. It's strictly pay for play and/or signing. Maybe NOW they will be clashified as employees?
