Big time agree. If we're ever allowed to hire anybody again the thing I look for is someone who's ready to play right away. No time for projects and apprenticeships here.
For me, just part of it is having no time to train.
Even with time to train, I've found that people who can't figure things out and think on their feet shouldn't be in this business. They're not trainable.
You must be able to deal with constant changes, you must have the ability to go in with a blank slate and gather information, you must be able to do things last minute and you better be able to handle it when all your plans blow up and you have to quickly come up with a new plan.
