The Soccer Thread (Version 12) — Revenge of the Backup GK

As a Villa fan, I did rather enjoy that one. Think I even rewrote the chorus of "Levon" for Bailey, who had an appearance best described by a Grandpa Simpson GIF: Came on as a sub, baited Everton into an own goal, scored one of his own, and came off with a knock. W2, L2, D1 is kind of meh, and the next two weeks are rough (Man United away, Spurs away). but that also means they'll have half the Big 6 out of the way by early October.

In the case of Watford, meh. Far more concerned about staying up than any run in the Carabao Cup. Bunch of regulars sat and Xisco tried working some new guys, specifically Ozan Tufan, into the lineup. Sarr wasn't even in the 18. Big game against Newcastle Saturday, the sort the 'Orns need to bag all three points from if they want to stay up. Current betting odds on the three relegated teams are Norwich, Watford and Burnley. Would like to get out of that zone.

It's been a good couple of weeks for the Ole out crowd. And I can't say that they are wrong.

We're not gonna talk about Real Madrid losing to a team from Moldova in the Champions League?

Also, very interesting thread on said Moldovan squad:
