The Soccer Thread (Version 12) — Revenge of the Backup GK

I think that the average soccer fan is very online and is used to watching the top teams in the world on a weekly basis. Our best sucks compared to that. Right now, our level is qualify for the WC and hopefully make it out of the group stage but nothing more.

It doesn't mean a ton, but the U.S. hasn't had its full complement of top players for any WCQ, and for most of them were missing multiple. I'd like to see what can happen if Pulisic, Reyna, McKennie, Musah, Adams and Dest are training and playing together for an extended period. Reyna may be what the attack has been missing.

Christian Eriksen scores two minutes after entering his first match for Denmark since his cardiac arrest last summer, in a friendly against Netherlands. A happy moment. Sure wish Spurs still had him.

If we win by 4 tonight, CR will have to win by 6 on Wednesday. Even a 2 goal win, means they need to beat us by 5

Second tiebreaker is goals scored, so the Ticos would have to win 6-love to pass us. That said, El Tri is still screwing around 0-0 at Honduras. If that stayed tied, El Tri would need a win at home vs. El Salvador on Wednesday, which could be unintentionally hilarious at least.
