Without injecting my own opinion, I'm curious. What is a realistic endgame that most see happening with this war? Take Trump out of it for the moment. Purely as a Russia vs. Ukraine exercise, what is the realistic outcome if things keep going as they are?

Putin dies; a bunch of people vie to replace him and whoever emerges decides to just pull them all out and pretend that nothing ever happened.

Suffice it to say that for years the biggest criticism of Putin by Kremlin hardliners was that he was too soft, too "reactive" and not "proactive."

Look up some of what Dmitry Medvedev has said the past three years for a window into what some hardliners believe.

There is no justification for Putin's actions. Stating what "will" happen --- instead of what "should" happen in a perfect world --- is not condoning it. Someone needs to work on "reading comprehension."

I'm only wondering if Justin's icon-clad statement that wars of conquest can't be "allowed" to happen are still valid if we happen to be the ones orchestrating the conquest.
