Last time I went to bed after 1 am was probably 12 years ago in Vegas at my 40th Bday getaway.
Was away on a golf tournament weekend with 15 other guys this weekend. Pretty competitive, but great group of guys. My first time with the group, got an invite through one buddy, never met any others. Great host, great venue, 3 villas side by side, with accommodations gratis, only had to pay for golf, food, transportation. Could talk to any of the other 15 and have a great time. An epic weekend based on my life to date.
Sat. rolls around, after two days, poker game is over and everyone is getting ready to hit the sack for the singles matches on Sun. One guy, a former NBA player, says "who wants to go to the club?" I played in his foursome the first day and he was a very humble and gracious guy. Only my buddy and I go out and it was a great adventure. Club, strip club (awful), then a casino. Only problem, got back at 5 am and had to wake up at 7:30. UGH. Needless to say, brutal start, lost 5 and 4. If I wanted to win, I should have gone to bed.
Don't think I'm staying awake that late ever again, even if I get to see how the other half lives.
