Favorite song from a band you know sucks

Don't know if the band sucks or not because I've never heard any of their other stuff but...

About 90% of the bands y'all are referencing from the 80s I saw in concert, even the most obscure of the lot.

As for playing songs over and over, when I was in the Navy, we had a two-cashette deck stereo in our work space. I had a couple of shipmates who loved darn Yankees. They had two cashettes played on loop ... one after another. After about two months of it, one night on watch, I threw both of them over the side. I'm sure somewhere in the Atlantic they are still floating around.

darn it, @Driftwood, those unspooled and choked a turtle to death. forker.

"Jet Airliner" is the only Steve Miller Band song I can tolerate. Any time any of their other songs come on the radio, I instantly hit the change button.

I like Steve Miller's "Jet Airliner" but the original version of "Jet Airliner" by Paul Pena is a banger.

Steve Miller was a sneaky forker. Through a mutual friend, he heard the original version by Pena which was unreleased at the time. He loved it and recorded it before Pena's version ever came out. I'm sure Pena made some nice coin off the residuals.

To paraphrase his song, Miller took the money and ran.

I saw a documentary once about Pena's pilgrimage to Tuva to learn throat singing. There are some clips from it on YT.
