College football week 14 thread: ATLiens

Curt Cignetti has better have air support for his house if he keep shirt-talking opponents.

If I can find a travel package, I'm heading to Dallas for Mizzou-Ohio State. Might be an ass kicking for the Tiggers, but I've never been to a bowl game, so it would be fun anyway.

I should have learned long ago, but I keep forgetting that college football is akin to figure skating, gymnastics and beauty pageants in terms of deciding a champion.

Boxing too. You can have the greatest record, and to get ahead, you have to kiss the asses of the alphabet "sanctioning" bodies.

No dog in this fight, and I don't know all the ins and outs, but a team going undefeated in a major conference and being told by some suits that you're only the fifth best team out there is just ridiculous.

SMU goes 11-2, wins the AAC and is rewarded with the Fenway Bowl against BC.

If they set Fenway up like they did when the Pats played there, there would be some pretty good seats.

I do like how some of the minor bowls are making geographic selections. NMSU to Albuquerque, Okie State and TAMU to the Texas Bowl, UCLA to the LA Bowl, Georgia Southern to Myrtle Beach, Louisiana and Jacksonville State to New Orleans, UCF and USF staying in Florida, Arky State to Montgomery, Utah State to Boise, Troy in Birmingham, South Alabama to Mobile, Utah to Las Vegas, Bowling Green to Detroit ... being able to drive to a bowl site makes a huge difference.

UNLV-Kansas to Phoenix/Guaranteed Rate (I'd rather watch them play basketball)

Fresno State-New Mexico State in the New Mexico

Wyoming-Toledo in Arizona

Utah State-Georgia State in Boise

Florida is its own category apart from the South (I will now accept your "bless your hearts" and "oh, childs")
The Yankee Florida begins somewhere between Gainesville and Ocala. The Big Bend and Panhandle are thoroughly Southern. Tally is closer to Atlanta than Miami - and it isn't that close to Atlanta.
