College football week 11 thread: Last MACtion Hero

I think Okie Lite lets Gundy finish the year, then that will be that.
Norvell and Riley both have their schools by the balls. Unless 3 or 4 of their super boosters decide to right a really big check, they'll just suck for a while. Riley buyout north of 80 million.
At USC, the president just announced her retirement. Partial power vacuum.

Same reason contributing to Florida being completely rudderless right now when ordinarily Sun Belt Billy would be racing his AD to see who gets to rent the good U-Haul that doesn't have bald tires and an oil leak.

As someone who used to inspect UHauls when they got returned to the nursery/landscaping/tree service I worked at as a teenager and that had a sideline UHaul rental business, I am greatly offended by that comment. We would never put a truck back on the road with an oil leak and bald tires. Those are either/or problems.

Also, I had zero training. Was just handed a checklist. Also, everything I knew about mechanics at that time I had learned from the Bulgarian immigrant who worked with us and didn't speak a lick of English (when he started). He'd spend hours working on a vehicle, come out with a part and hand it to me and say "Frantic, need new" and then I'd take it down to the Ford or Chevy dealer and tell 'em "Val says we need a new one of these", and then they'd tell me what it was.

I wonder if teams will start holding back coaching dollars and put them into NIL. Because we know that these folks aren't that amazing as "recruiter$)"
You'd like to think they'd do that. But they have known for a couple years now that player compen$ation was coming, and they have still insisted on paying coordinators $2,000,000 a year. I have no faith that fiscal responsibility will hit football, the god they all worship.

That's lovely for you. The morning of my move from Dothan to Valdosta, the U Haul guy cheerfully announced that I was on my way to become a Georgia cracker. I bit my lip and asked to look over the truck before signing for it. I was informed I could sign it out right then and there or I could find another place to rent a truck on the first of the month.

By the grace of God we made it. Penske got my business the next time we moved.

Idiot.
The defensive hold was the right call.
The timeout was called in time also.
Yeah…..I'm not a happy SID right now.

I was watching the end, but I saw a few comments that Utah scored a TD on a phantom face mask call or something. Stuff like this evens out in most cases. It just sticks out because it was a fourth down sack at the goalline. But it didn't look like a bad call.

Plus, you still had how many chances to keep them out of field goal range? Stop them.

After the holding penalty, Utah had an 89.7% chance of winning per ESPN. Couldn't get the job done.
If you're going to imply — strongly — that the officials actively conspired to take victory from you, then you have to do better than walking out without providing proof.
We all know the league office hoped BYU would win. If they go 12-0 with a league title game L to a decent team, they might make the playoff as an at-large. Dropping the Holy War ends that possibility.
But come on dude.

The white hat is a former Pac-12 ref. Thus, chaos ensues. (BTW, he didn't make the controversial call.)

U Haul will never get another dollar from me. I needed to rent a truck to move some stuff, and my contract was kicked out by the computer. It took several calls to extract what was happening. I had included my son on the contract as a driver. He had also been included as a driver on a contract a couple of years back - he did not rent the truck, he was helping a girl move. They had an issue with her over payment. Since he was a driver on her contract, having him as a driver on my contract got me blackballed. They refuse to rent to me, evidently in an effort to get money from her somehow? Complete bullship.

fork 'em. I went to Penske and will not miss any opportunity to badmouth U Haul from now on.

There was one store, I think it was Sears, that have a very underrated haul truck rental service. Very good pricing, good trucks. Easy to book.
