College football week 12 thread: All the Brigham Young Dudes

I think Maryland might have worn the worst uniforms in program history against Rutgers this past Saturday. Those things were hideous. I know they have to genuflect to their Under Armor owner, but gawd, such terrible choices. I remember the old red jersey-white pants days under Bobby Ross, looked pretty sharp.

And I think Greg Schiano has just done a spectacular job at Rutgers. Maybe he just can't be successful anyplace else but man he's done well there, better than they could have ever expected. He's the perfect fit.

I don't hate those Maryland unis. Yellow has been a color used by Maryland basketball going back at least 45 years to the Albert King-Buck Williams-Greg Manning era.

For some reason it just bugs the shirt out of me when teams don't wear their school colors. I know it's all about marketing and selling more apparel but it still get me mad for some reason.

Washington wore all black last Friday night, hardly any purple. Carolina sometimes wears Duke-blue jerseys, with Carolina-blue numbers. Everyone has to wear gunboat grey at least once, must be a Nike edict. Drives me crazy.

Iowa State is bad about not only doing all black, but doing it against a team that actually uses black as a color. UCF last week, Iowa in the not-so-distant past.

I used to hang out on Uni Watch for a while until Paul Lukas got a little too high on his own supply and started acting like an HOA president. But he had an acronym there called BFBS that was perfect. Black for black's sake.
