2023 running NBA playoffs thread

I give the Suns credit for saying "screw it" we're going all in baby! Those are 4 studs IF they are all healthy. They need to just sign good role players this summer to hold salary slots for trading later because after '24 they have no flexibility left. But grabbing slots now keeps them for future.

I've been in the trade Ayton camp for awhile now, but if the relationship between Monty and DA was that toxic, perhaps it's worth waiting to see if a new coaching staff can unleash the dog in him. No doubt, the bench is thin. But presented this opportunity, I don't know how Ishbia couldn't go for it considering what's already been invested in Booker and Durant. The window is tiny for this team to win a title, and the Nuggets are really forking good, so it's not going to be easy to get out of the West.

The question for me is what they can get for him. If they can turn Ayton into two or three decent rotation guys then move him. If there's no market, hang on and see if Vogel can get anything out of him.

Sorry, @Cosmo and @PCLoadLetter. Isiah Thomas is hard at work behind the curtain.

Here's one thing I find curious in all of this: everyone seems to be taking Chris Paul's word as gospel here.

Certainly, it's possible that Zeke's whispering in Ishbia's ear about all of this stuff. Ishbia acknowledges that they are close.

But the media guy in Phoenix who is typically most plugged-in to the Suns -- John Gambodoro -- says that this was Ishbia, Jones and Vogel behind the deal, and that they had been talking to Chris Paul about this for two weeks. The fact that Paul repeatedly said "Matt and Isiah" isn't exactly proof of anything, and CP would absolutely make that ship up on the way out of town.

So, I dunno. Could be true, which would be concerning. But I don't trust Chris Paul at all.

That's why I took a pash on his State Farm policy.

The Celtics are trading for Kristaps Porzingis? A big complaint was the Celtics playing Horford and Williams together. Why add another PF/C? Add some scoring balance when the threes aren't falling?

Lou Williams retires. Seventeen seasons and started less than 10 percent of the games he played in. Best bench player ever?
