Did Stanford's statement specifically say they're making an external hire? It didn't mention anyone being the interim.
Spring practice begins next week.
Also wild: The AD is still on the job. Luck reports to the president of the university. That's some directional state U organizational garbage there. And it's happening at one of the great universities in the land.

My guess is Luck will hire someone from the NFL, and keep the staff in place. They also need an OC, since Taylor was his own OC. Not an obvious candidate for an interim on the current staff to take them through next season.

Current AD announced last month he's stepping down at the end of the school year. So this most likely is going to be Luck's call.
