2024-25 College Basketball Thread

It would run counter to the NCAA's "don't blame athletes for your losing bet" messaging, but, with three members of TNT's crew on set, why can't we have a "Gone Fishing" for the regional finals?

People can gush all they want about Flag, but Scheyer is a great coach.

After we just watched the crybaby coach fest of Florida and Texas Tech, it's glaringly obvious how much coaching Scheyer does during the game.

What a performance by Duke.

Miserable ending to a great three-year ride with Sears. But when he led your team to 67 percent of its Elite 8 appearances it's hard to complain much.

Duke is forking insane. I will be pissed at this point if it isn't them and Florida as the last two standing.

As a Carolina grad, it's painful to admit, but Scheyer is really, really good. At this point, I'm just hoping the allure of the NBA is too strong when the opportunity comes.

I've never been a Duke fan, except when it was Gminski/Spanarkel v Kentucky. Big kudos to them though, there's a lot of good players beyond Flagg and they play well as a team, making "the right" play/pass, not out of control.

Plus, their coach doesn't act like an idiot on the sidelines like the Hurleys or so many others.

Ms. SixToe enjoys watching sportsball games but doesn't have any idea about strateegery.

Watching Duke, though, she remarked about how well they seemed to shift, get open and play defense.

If it's obvious enough and strong enough to get through to a non-engaged fan, that's IMO pretty good. They're fun to watch.

Gamecocks haven't exactly looked like a juggernaut this weekend. Think Texas or even TCU might have something for them - assuming Duke doesn't finish them off today.

Scheyer's first three seasons:
First: Lost in NCAA second round.
Second: Lost in NCAA regional final.
Third: Final Four.
