2024-25 College Basketball Thread

Ms. SixToe enjoys watching sportsball games but doesn't have any idea about strateegery.

Watching Duke, though, she remarked about how well they seemed to shift, get open and play defense.

If it's obvious enough and strong enough to get through to a non-engaged fan, that's IMO pretty good. They're fun to watch.
Maluach, the 7-foot-2 freshman, is sometimes overlooked. His wingspan and his foot work are impressive. He can guard perimeter guys 20 feet from the basket (and not foul) and then recover to protect the rim.

At least half his baskets are dunks, created when another Duke player beats their man off the dribble and the guy guarding Maluach has to help.

Kenny Smith at halftime of Tenn-Houston blowing bullshirt smoke about Vols guards - like Ziegler - attacking their man one-on-one. Meanwhile, video plays Ziegler beating his defender and getting shot blocked at the rim. What a load o' crap.

He gets the players, but then he puts them to good use. All the length, recovery and team play is astounding.

That team last night beats almost every college team I've ever watched play. That's how good they were last night.

Now, can they have a bad game in a week? Sure.

But last night? Holy shirt.

That was pretty funny.

I realize the sites are locked in years in advance. But I imagine the police escorts in Spokane are more plentiful after last year's incident in Coer d'Alene. No way they were able to stash all eight teams in Spokane (which has a white supremacist issue of its own).
The question I have is: That happened, yet the NCAA goes back. MLB moved faster taking the All-Star Game from Atlanta a few years back.
