2024-25 College Basketball Thread

The question I have is: That happened, yet the NCAA goes back. MLB moved faster taking the All-Star Game from Atlanta a few years back.
If I recall, part of the problem last year was Spokane also had a huge AAU volleyball tournament in town the same weekend, forcing some teams to stay in North Idaho. Maybe that wasn't the case this year.

I'm pleased that no conference will have a majority of the Final Four. If anybody gets three like the Big East did in 1985, it'll feel more like a conference tournament than the national showcase it's supposed to be.

Both the men's and women's Final Fours might be pure chalk … although with Watkins' injury, UConn could crash the party on the women's side. But they're not exactly an underdog.

I miss sports writing like this. Insightful, a touch of flair and context that really sparkles throughout.

Very solid. Except for the part where he says the SEC put "four schools in every regional final," which is impossible.

I realize the sites are locked in years in advance. But I imagine the police escorts in Spokane are more plentiful after last year's incident in Coer d'Alene. No way they were able to stash all eight teams in Spokane (which has a white supremacist issue of its own).

They're at least mixing it up the next three years.

2026: Sacramento and Fort Worth
2027: Las Vegas and Philadelphia
2028: Portland and Washington
